Chickens, chipmunks, children and chilled & frozen, have all been milestones in Brian’s career and personal story. Brian started his career on a family poultry farm in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. When he and his wife Lachelle immigrated to New Zealand, he worked at Inghams Poultry in Matamata for 6 years in various roles. During this time, they had two children Joshua (17) and Sarah (14) and moved to Tauranga. For several years they built and ran their own franchised Chipmunks business, before moving onto senior roles within a national foodservice wholesaler.
For the past 10 years Brian has been General Manager of several Foodservice wholesaler branches in both the South and North Islands and was most recently responsible for setting up a new branch in Hobsonville. Brian has led teams of over 100 and has received awards and accolades for sales excellence and being Branch Manager of the Year, reflecting his passion for people – both customers and his team.
Brian’s people-based values are focused firmly on developing and inspiring his team, having integrity, being courageous and resilient, and above all - putting the customer first every time, every day.
Brian is excited about leading the Gilmours North Shore Team and joining the Foodstuffs Co-op, as he’s committed to leaving a personal legacy for his family and the wider community through his positive contribution to the Co-op.
